Ventura Wild programs are designed to connect children to nature and instill a deep sense of belonging, by nurturing awareness, knowledge, skills and stewardship in the natural world. Our outdoor enrichment programs include homeschool and after school offerings for children age 3 - 12 years old in the Ojai and Ventura. Our team of highly experienced naturalists and educators provide students with a learning environment that promotes understanding and profound respect for nature. These programs are developed following Forest School teaching philosophies and Next Generation Science Standards. Children are immersed in nature to be challenged and inspired through investigation and play. Our days include council circles, games, stories, crafts, and activities that focus on our connection to self, others and our environment. Learning erupts organically as an intuitive interaction between mentor, nature and child. Curriculum is designed with a focus on ecological literacy, social emotional skills and Next Generation Science Standards.Ninos y Naturaleza, our Wednesday homeschool program, follows the same program description but is offered as a dual-immersion program. Basic knowledge and understanding of Spanish is highly encouraged, but not required. Our team will provide instructions and guidance in both.
