Rising Star Riders (RSR) is a horse management and horseback riding program. RSR offers mounted and unmounted instruction to children and adults with special needs and disabilities as well as home school students. We are located in Tehachapi in Kern County and serve additional cities to include but not limited to Bakersfield, Mojave, California City and Rosamond. The mounted instruction includes learning how to properly mount the horse, control the horse, and develop a basic balanced position while riding. The students will develop riding skills while increasing muscle tone and increasing a sense of mastery. The unmounted instruction includes learning to halter, lead, groom and tack up the horse. During the unmounted instruction the student develops skills that improve communication, socialization and balance. While participating they will gain a sense of control and confidence. Classes are group lessons with 2-4 students, ages 4 - 99 and 50 minutes in length.
